We’re trying to post gallery pictures of our cats in different situations, but have been running into roadblocks (or gallery blocks). Below is a draft of our Cats in Treatment gallery. This will be an active gallery as cats will move into or out of treatment. Please give us a shout on social media about what you think.
This gallery displays photos of the cats currently undergoing active treatment for acute sickness, chronic illness or injury. Our cats with FIV are shown in their own gallery.
CarmelloCarmello has a bad mouth and almost no teeth. When Carmello went in for a teeth cleaning, his tonsils were so inflamed he couldn't be incubated. So no teeth cleaning, but massive dose of steroids and anti-inflammatories and wait til his tonsils get better.
CooperCooper is the newest resident and we think one of the oldest cats. He is partially deaf and can't see well. Cooper has house access now and is often found on our bed. This is one old cat who has a new sparkle in his eyes. He still gets his special food and an occasional painkiller for his arthritis.
Gwendolyn (Gwen)Gwen is in our medical isolation kennel due to an eye infection. She definitely doesn't like being in the kennel which makes changer her litter box an effort in escape prevention. The meds we put in her eye has seemed to help. If she doesn't get better soon, then its off to the vet for some stronger meds.
HamletHamlet has stomatitis and has almost no teeth. His vet is currently working out a treatment plan to help him get better.
LinusLinus has terribly matted fur and he is waiting for an appointment for a medical shave. He explicitly stated, "No Lion Cuts"!!
MarmaladeMarmalade has some bad teeth. They are going to be pulled and then she'll be on meds for a while.
PinkiePinkie has stomach problems which cause her to be constantly throwing up. She gets anti-nausea meds almost daily and we've seen only a slight improvement.
ScottyScotty is an old cat with issues with his gut
and kidneys. We're still trying to find an effective medication to help him. We're watching him closely and take him to the vet when needed.
Stella wants a ChuruStella continues to get better though she has a cold and sniffles. We continue to give her a twice-day treatment for her thyroid and we clean her ears about once a week. Stella has developed some scabbing around her neck and chest which will require a bit of a shave in the future.
